When: This event is annually slated for the 3rd Saturday in June every year. This year the cruise is Saturday June 17th from (7pm. - 9pm.)
Where: The cruise route every year is from the over-pass at the Flying J to the over-pass at Sutherlands. And as such, this is how the name of “Bridge to Bridge” came to be. The entire route is along the “Old Jacksboro Hwy.”is approximately 2.5 miles and is 4 lane divided with wide shoulders and only has (2) signals one at Midwestern Pkwy. and the other one at Hatton Road and has a posted speed limit of 45 mph.
But with where we at with the growth of this event; we are simply at the point of having to extend the Northern End of the cruise route to make it more enjoyable for both our participants and the public. This year we are encouraging and emphasizing that our participants continue as far Nth on Old Jacksboro Hwy. as they choose to.
Old Jacksboro Hwy. is (4) lane divided with a posted speed limit of 45 mph. as far Nth as Galveston. Feel free to go as far Nth (as you like) before turning around and heading back South. Adding to the Northern end of the route will help tremendously with a more fluid traffic flow for the duration of the event.
REGISTRATION SCHEDULE: This year we are beginning to start the transition of having on-line registration for those who wish to use that convenience. And we will still offer (4-5) on-site registration date(s) depending on how much volume we have or don’t have with online registration. Those on-site registration date(s) have not been set, but are forth coming and will follow the template that has been is use for the last (5) years.
T-SHIRTS: The availability of shirts and sizes are always going to be a moving target with an event of this size and with an event that continues to grow. And this year we have really done the math and have went back and re-worked the sizes to maximize the availability of shirt sizes over this event. We have yet to order this year’s shirts, but we are certain that you will like both the shirt and this year’s design.
$20.00 Registration includes your cruise t-shirt, cruise decal & registration bags. We have revamped our raffle this year and it will be narrowed down to (1-3) very nice raffle item(s). Raffle tickets are $5.00 a piece.
“Bridge to Bridge Cruise” Wichita Co. Wrench Rods
We cannot even begin to thank our “Cruise Family of Sponsors” for the outpouring of support that we have gotten (this year) and every year.!! We have firm commitments from all of our Platinum, Gold and Silver Sponsors. So many good people who own and operate fine businesses who help us dial the clock back every 3rd Saturday in June; to a time in the 70’s when we were all on Kemp cruising back and forth. And (by NO means) is this all of the great folks who help us as there is so many who donate items, services and their time. And anybody who has ever put on a large event will tell you that it takes a lot of great folks and what they (all collectively) bring to the table to make it work. For all practical purposes all of our promotional work is behind us and now it is time for “Boots on The Ground” for the “Wrench Rods”!!
Very Humbly We Thank You,
Wichita Co. Wrench Rods
“Bridge to Bridge Cruise
The Annual Wichita Falls Bridge to Bridge Car Cruise now in it’s fourth year came about from reflecting back on what so many of us did here in Wichita Falls on any Friday or Saturday night with cruising up and down Kemp Street in the 70’s!! For many of us there were no more fun and simpler times and as such there was a need and the passion to re-duplicate what so many of us enjoyed then. And in the Spring 2019 the concept of a Saturday Evening Car Cruise began to take shape. With Kemp Street looking nothing like it did in the 70’s finding an alternate location was a must. And after some thought we realized the Old Jacksboro Hwy. corridor was possibly the idea place to have a cruise similar to what so many of us did on Kemp (48) years ago!! And with that being said, here we are four years later with an event that has grown exponentially by (200-250) vehicle entries every year. And there is only one reason for that and that is simply we have always had a great car culture here and we were lucky to build a car event going on (5) years ago that has its very own loyal following which resulted in a car count last year of approximately 750 cars.
Do you have questions or comments about the event? Do you need special accommodations? Send me a message, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
